This trip takes us to Penedès, a region close to Barcelona famous for its wine-making. An area with a long agricultural tradition, it has come to be one of the most important cava-making locations. This business activity began in 1800, when the wood barrels were transported by carriage, although the Torres family business really expanded nationally and internationally when Jaime Torres Vendrell returned from Cuba, after ten years of hard work and saving. Jaime Torres had the idea of exporting his wine to countries such as Cuba, Argentina and Puerto Rico. This alliance of tradition and forward-thinking vision has meant that the Torres business is now a company that exports to over 120 countries.
